Tracking Event Codes

To make integration easier and more scalable, Gluey harmonise all of the carrier's tracking event codes to our own set of codes. Should you wish to customise your application-layer based on specific carrier event codes Gluey does always pass through the original carrier event codes too for you to use.

This section documents all the different codes you can expect to receive from us.

Structure of Event Codes

Since Gluey use three levels of event codes you can choose to map only the two first two (milestone + event) which gives ~30 event codes to map whilst the full mapping of all three levels (milestone + event + sub_event) is more than 150 different events. This reason for this categorisation is to give you as a customers maximum freedom and flexibility to decide the level of detail you deem most suitable for your application you build on top of Gluey. The different hierarchies are described below:

Outbound

Below are all tracking events related to an outbound shipment, arranged according to Gluey's milestone, event and sub_event structure. Should you wish to review the tracking event codes in CSV or JSON format you can also do so by downloading the below files:

A shipping label has been created by the parcel carrier.
locker_pin
A pin code for a parcel locker has been created indicating where a customer can drop off / collect their parcel.
qrcode
A qr code has been generated that the customer can use for a paperless return.
customer_notification
The customer have been notified that the shipment / parcel have been created and is on its way.

order_cancelled

The shipment / parcel / label have been cancelled

The 3PL have completed the pick and pack in the warehouse

The 3PL have sent despatch advice to a carrier

scheduled

pickup_requested
A pickup has been requested with the carrier and we are awaiting their confirmation to accept the requested date and time. Alternatively should a specific date and time not have been requested then we are awaiting for the date and time to be communicated by the carrier.
with_specific_time
The shipment / parcel is scheduled by the carrier to be picked up on a specific date and time.
without_specific_time
The shipment / parcel is scheduled by the carrier to be picked up - but they have not given a specific date and time (e.g. they might have given a date range / day range like Mon-Wed).

sortation_hub
The shipment / parcel has arrived at one of the carriers sortation hubs / regional distribution centres. This is typically a larger sortation centre where parcels gets sorted to be hauled to a smaller local depot before the final mile.
cross_docking_hub
The shipment / parcel has arrived at a cross-docking hub to be reloaded onto a new vehicle.
local_depot
The shipment / parcel has arrived at a smaller local depot. This is typically a facility without sortation where goods gets loaded onto smaller vehicles for final mile delivery.

processed_at_carrier_facility

The delivery was attempted but receiver no longer lives at the address
refused_by_recipient
The delivery was attempted but the recipient refused to take the parcel.
recipient_unavailable
The delivery attempt was made, but there was no answer at the address (e.g. called receiver / used buzzer but nobody answered).
no_safe_location
Delivery attempted but there was no safe location to leave the parcel.
incorrect_address
The delivery attempt was made, but the address was incorrect.
due_to_security
Delivery failed because of security issues.
warehouse_closed
The delivery attempt was made, but the warehouse was closed.
access_denied
The delivery attempt was made, but access to the warehouse was denied.
no_receiving_staff
The delivery attempt was made, but no receiving staff was available at the warehouse.
restricted_access_hours
The delivery attempt was made outside the warehouse's receiving hours.
partial_delivery_only
The delivery attempt was made, but only a partial delivery could be made due to space or capacity issues.
paperwork_incomplete
The delivery attempt was made, but the necessary paperwork was incomplete.
security_check_failed
The delivery attempt was made, but the delivery failed due to security check issues at the warehouse.
warehouse_full
The delivery attempt was made, but the warehouse was full and unable to receive more shipments.
unresponsive_contact
The delivery attempt was made, but the contact person at the warehouse was unresponsive.

The shipment / parcel has been delivered to a local carrier depot where the receiver can collect it from.
with_signature
The shipment / parcel has been delivered and signed for.

The shipment / parcel has been left with a neighbor.
left_in_safe_place
The shipment / parcel has been left in a safe place like your porch.
parcel_locker
The shipment / parcel has been placed in a parcel locker ready for pickup.
pudo_point
The shipment / parcel have been delivered to a pickup / dropoff location.
post_office
The shipment / parcel have been delivered to a local post office.

The parcel is in transit back to the sender.

The shipment / parcel was rejected because it was poorly packaged.
hazmat
The shipment / parcel was rejected because it contains hazardous materials.

The shipment / parcel delivery was rejected for another unnamed reason.

The shipment / parcel delivery is delayed because of bad weather.
due_to_sender
The shipment / parcel delivery is delayed because of the sender.

due_to_misroute
The shipment / parcel was accidentally sent in the wrong direction by the carrier and this cause a delay.

The shipment / parcel is held at a hub because it is missing some information.
prohibited_items
The shipment / parcel is held because it has something that is not allowed.

The carrier has sent a tracking event acknowledging that the shipment / parcel is at the origin airport but without sufficient detail to determine what sub_event category it fits.
en_route
The shipment / parcel is enroute to the departure (origin) airport for an international flight.
handed_over
The shipment / parcel have been handed over to an airline from where it will depart the origin country. This event is typically triggered from the carrier side to denote they have left the parcel with the airline at the airport.
take_off
The shipment / parcel have departed the airport in the origin country (i.e. the flight itself have taken off).

stopover_airport

The carrier has sent a tracking event acknowledging that the shipment / parcel is at a stopover airport but without sufficient detail to determine what sub_event category it fits.
landing
The shipment / parcel have arrived at a stopover airport (i.e. the flight itself have landed).

The shipment / parcel have been unloaded at the sea port / handed over to an shipping company from where it will depart the origin country. This event is typically triggered from the carrier side to denote they have left the parcel with the shipping company at the port.
loaded_onto_vessel
The shipment / parcel have been loaded onto a naval vessel and is ready to set sail.
set_sail
The shipment / parcel have departed the sea port in the origin country (i.e. the naval vessel itself have set sail).

stopover_seaport
